These waffles are a nutritious breakfast to curb your sweet tooth. They can be prepared ahead of time and frozen so you can pop them out and put them in the toaster for a ready-to-go breakfast! They're gluten-free, grain-free, and paleo!
Ingredients:
1 cup Almond flour
1 tsp Baking powder
1/4 tsp Salt
2 scoops of protein powder or collagen powder (I use vanilla flavored)
1 tsp Vanilla extract
1 tsp Apple cider vinegar
1 tbsp Flax seeds, ground
1/2 cup Non-dairy milk
2 tbsp Apple sauce
Optional Toppings:
2 tbsp Almond butter
2 tbsp Maple syrup
Fresh Fruit
Coconut Yogurt
1 tbsp ghee
Instructions:
First, start off by plugging in your waffle iron to make sure it gets nice and hot for your batter.
Next, in a mixing bowl combine all of your waffle batter ingredients until mixed thoroughly.
Once your waffle iron is heated up you will want to spray it with a non-stick spray (I use a coconut oil-based non-stick pray). Pour around 1/4-1/3 cup of the batter into your waffle iron. You will want to fill the waffle iron plate around 3/4 of the way full with batter to ensure it doesn't pour out the sides.
Cook each waffle to your liking and serve with the optional toppings and enjoy! :)
